Building a Community Seed Garden @ Burbank

native plants support local wildlife and help climate resiliency

In collaboration with Wild Seed Project Portland Public Library is working to build biodiversity at the Burbank Branch with a Community Seed Garden! As part of this project, representatives from Wild Seed Project will lead workshops to assess a space, select and plan an appropriate planting, and implement a native plant garden to build biodiversity in our space. Projects like this one provide the skills and resources they need to collectively repopulate landscapes with native plants that expand wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and build climate resilience.

The mission of Wild Seed Project is to inspire people to take action and join us in increasing the presence of native plants grown from wild seed. Our vision is that people create and repopulate landscapes to be abundant with native plants that safeguard wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and mitigate the effects of climate change.
