Naturalization Ceremony

Come celebrate local members in our community who have successfully completed the process for becoming a U.S. Citizen in the Rines Auditorium of Portland Public Library.

The Naturalization Ceremony is a formal event, open to the public, whereby people who have immigrated to the United States from a foreign county are authorized to take The Oath of Allegiance to the United States in order to become a naturalized American citizen. The Oath ceremony is a tradition dating back to the 18th century.

Becoming a citizen through naturalization is a process in which a person voluntarily becomes an American citizen, and states their allegiance to the United States and are entitled to its protection and exercise their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the United States. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)  is responsible for holding these ceremonies. It is a beautiful occasion.
