About the Book:

Sketching with Renoir takes the Boudreau family through one year—1947 into 1948—as the U.S. recovers from both the Great Depression and WWII. Ev is an astist. Her husband, Theo, a newly-minted architect, has just complete his first, solo job for a wealthy gentleman named Gerald Keenan. The Boudreau family, including their five-year-old daughter, Cleo, and her dog, Kip, reside in a small home in the rural town of Loganville, Pennsylvania.

In the course of that year, Ev struggles to paint and her life closes in while her husband’s world expands. Gerlad Keenan wrestles with a secret even deeper than being a closeted gay man and Cleo hones her observational skills. The townspeople of Loganville make various oracular appearances. In other words, we meet life both then and now…
