CALLING YOUNG ARTISTS! Join us at the Riverton Branch for an afternoon of wildlife education and artmaking with the Center for Wildlife, using a few of their live ambassador animals (as well as some delightful non-living bio parts) as our models. Together, we’ll develop our observation skills and explore concepts of biomimicry, camouflage, and adaptation. What art will this inspire? All participating artists will be invited to leave their artwork (or finish and return their artwork) for a show that will be on display through the end of May.

Space is limited, so each child must be registered in advance. To register, please call the Riverton Branch during open hours (207-797-2915) or send an email to riverton@portlib.org (be sure to include the name and age of each child who hopes to attend, and a phone number where we can reach you).

Program geared toward ages: 6-12

Notes:

  • – Drawing materials will be provided, but artists are welcome to bring their own if they prefer
  • – This will be an outdoor event if weather allows
  • – Please plan to arrive ten minutes early to get settled in before the program begins
